Many of the Scottish dials recorded by Andrew Somerville are listed in the Register with no illustration, a situation that is slowly improving as members begin to explore the region. This interesting example also awaits a photo, but we have these sketches from the current curator, Charlotte Rostek. Somerville's description reads: '8-pointed star ie 4 hemi-cylinders with acute angles between them; mounted on a sloping block which has no dials on it. Upper surface of star has an equatorial dial with noon lines for four cities. Uppermost hemi-cylinder (ie S-facing) has a polar dial.' The sketches confirm this, but more detail from a personal visit would be welcome.
