Another in our unofficial series of un-noticed gems, this 1848 dial has now been reported for the first time by Margaret Ribchester. The motto 'Yet a little while is the light with you' is from St John, xii, 35. The motto and the hour numerals are depicted on draped ribbons, in an unusual arrangement. An additional motto 'Pereunt et Imputantur' is inscribed in small letters in the lower part of the frame, possibly a later addition.
