A general view of this interesting dial

Sundial on The Bridge, Ross on Wye

If some hardship you do mourn,

Remember hours soon flee.

Thus every living creature born.

Though by some distraction torn,

Must take things as they be.

POLYHEDRAL PILLAR DIAL - Polyhedral, or multi-face dials, are dials with two or more faces inscribed with hour lines. A common form is the cube dial. Combination dials such as horizontal-polar-equatorial, or horizontal-vertical-equatorial, belong in this class, as do the complicated polyhedral dials with many faces, that are found in Scotland, and that are so typical of the Renaissance period.

Verse from 'Ye Sundial Booke' - T. Geoffrey W. Henslow
