This dial (SRN 4569) is mounted on the stable block at Goodwood House, Waterbeach in West Sussex. It probably dates from about 1760, when the stables were built. It carries hour lines and three declination curves, and is unusual in also bearing vertical indicators of the sun's azimuth, on a 32-point compass scale from South East by South to West South West. The massive plate is copper, painted with gold lines and numerals on a black ground. It was restored by West Dean College in 1994.
