Dials of Distinction - Number 10

Scottish sundials are a subject all on their own, typically massive carved stone blocks carrying dials on the various faces, sometimes as many as 60 in number. This example of the "lectern with star" is dated 1673 and is in Ayrshire. Most of the metal gnomons are missing.
